Jeff Ross

Jeff Ross got his professional start in music working for underground radio station KZEL-FM, a Billboard Magazine Small Market Station of the Year. It was booking and promoting regional and national Jazz and Blues artists throughout the Pacific Northwest that made Jeff aware of importance and need for professional artist management. Jeff booked and promoted concerts by Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Mingus, Bill Evans, Dave Brubeck, Robert Cray, Pat Metheny, Cal Tjader, Ted Curson, Oregon, Kenny Burrell, Eddie Jefferson, Bob Dorough and many others.

Discovering Kenny G and building the career of Jeff Lorber significantly amplified Jeff’s management work. He signed both artists to major label recording contracts with Clive Davis and Arista Records, developing careers that created a musical icon (Kenny G) and International Smooth Jazz stalwart (Jeff Lorber).

Laura Love, Mycle Wastman, Robbie Dupree, Doc Serverinsen, Jay Hoggard, Skywalk and David Friesen among others, are wonderful talents that Jeff has been fortunate to work with in management and other capacities. His booking work with Friesen included a unique solo bass performance on the “Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson.

London Tone Music, a recording company partnership with Jeff Heiman and the owners of the legendary London Bridge Studio, launched in 2014. To promote the new label, London Tone signed 52 artists to singles contracts and recorded and released a single each week for 52 weeks. During that immersive year Jeff was fortunate to meet and work with over 250 musicians from the Northwest and around the world.

As President of Great Northern Publishing, a music merchandising company, Jeff licensed and developed retail merchandise for major artists like Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Led Zeppelin, Gun’s & Roses and others. Jeff also worked with major retailers to establish retail sales programs for tour merchandising companies, to augment their concert venue sales.
